Hedgebank

Hedgebank was built as a detached, three-level house overlooking the Malvern hills of Worcestershire in the distance: its design consists of elegant, fluid and luminous spaces for living.

Together with the south-facing garden, Hedgebank’s balconies and patios provide an extraordinary view on the natural setting surrounding the building. Large windows and sliding glass doors contribute to create a sense of spaciousness and continuity. Simple details like the use of reflective white ceramic tiles and vibrant walnut wood evoke a particular care in sourcing materials.

Conscious and innovative design stands at the heart of the project and emerge through its reduced ecological footprint: Hedgebank has been developed according to the principles of Passivhaus, an internationally recognized standard dedicated to actualizing sustainable, energy-efficient and cost- effective architecture, while considering the role of elegance, design and innovation. This can be seen in the optimized insulation that envelopes the building, its floors, walls and ceiling. Wood, fire, earth metal and water contribute to create a balanced living environment.
