AEDI: Connected with the energies of the elements to build a balanced and innovative living environment, a space that is about how you feel to live.

Living spaces become fluid and versatile environments connected to the elements. Introduced as simplicity, elegance brings balance in the house, while design intuition joins continuous innovation to develop a totally new living experience. The house that senses works in harmony with the energy of the elements, and all of the space is available for living: it is about how you feel to live.

Heli Bradley founded AEDI in 2016. Even though she grew up in Finland, where self-building is common, Heli’s fascination with building a house from nothing started in the late 90s, when she first engaged in designing and building a place where she would eventually live in an open-plan home looking over the English Malvern Hills.

Since then, her enthusiasm has transformed into a rational practice focused on finding the right combination of innovation, design and natural energies to create fluid living environments. Heli’s experience is about moving forward with determination and a strong personal vision, overcoming constraints and never compromising on ideas. In 2018, while visiting ancient Italian churches, Heli discovered the chiostro, a garden inside a building and a significant influence on her conceptual approach to architecture.

Her perspective conceives the inner garden as a space where one could be free to live in harmony among the elements, like soil, plants, sunlight and the atmosphere: not just a livable space in the centre of the house, but an unbound, dynamic area dedicated to everyday living. The chiostro sets the stage to meet yourself at a deeper level through the synergy of the five elements. Surrounding you with carefully planned architectural proportions, it creates an ideal space to follow the rhythm of your own life, where the focus shifts to what the body is feeling.
